QUESTIONS.

Last Sunday, I was in a village in the central region for ''family duty''.  I noticed a tree that was walled so automatically my instinct was to take a photograph of it because it is a god of the town. I asked one of the villagers if it was allowed and he said no.

He asked why I wanted to and I told him because knowing these things fascinate me. All this while, there was a woman who was listening in on our conversation and she started saying shit like why am I asking questions? Do I want to incur the wrath of the gods on the land? She dislikes inquisitive children.
I thought her behavior was very foolish because,

1. I wasn't talking to her.
2. I didn't say I wanted to see their god. I asked if I could take a photograph.
3. If I wanted to disrespect the community, I would have done it without their permission.

The man took it well and explained their beliefs.

Most Ghanaian rural parents don't like to make their children explore. If it is one thing they know that is exactly what they children should stick to. Imaging the nonsense about not liking inquisitive children...

Knowledge is everything. This is the behavior that won't let Ghana move forward.  ASK questions. Challenge. Accept you don't know everything and try to develop yourself.

Simple.
