Wondering what the need to sound so foreign is. Why do most people feel that having an American or London accent makes you cool?
The plente 'oi' , 'what's going on?', 'you alright' and such is all the ghetto London slang. So why do people think it is cool to talk like that? It is funny how they won't talk like ghetto people from Ghana, yet it's okay to talk like someone from a ghetto in another country (not an African ghetto though)
It's even people who haven't traveled outside Ghana before that do this with all their VIM. Have you ever sat in a taxi in which the driver slanged you from the pick-up point to your final destination? Too too funny.
I don't blame those people completely. Its mainly hip hop music and videos that causes this thing. But I listen to hip hop too and I don't feel forced to speak 'slangs'.
So why should anyone else?
Well well.. me sef i get small LAFA from time to time for the fun of it.. I feel the problem is with acceptance. People are trying very hard to be accepted by others. Instead of accepting themselves..I think that is what it is..
